Unaccompanied (Home Alone) Children

You attend an address as part of your role, you find three children at the address, the eldest is 11yrs old, and he is looking after his siblings aged 7yrs and 5yrs old.

He says that his parents are both working and that their father will be home soon.

What would you do to assist this young person and or his family?

Dave Hunt, our Learning & Development Officer here at the LSCB has put together a handy Practice Point Learning Briefing to get your teams talking about ‘home alone’ children. Read the Home-Alone Practice Point for the full scenario.
