This multi agency event is presented and delivered by YOUNG MINDS

They are recognised within this particular area of safeguarding and have delivered training to many agencies in a variety of settings.

Children and young people’s mental health is everybody’s business and having an awareness of mental health issues enables us to better identify and support children and young people in need.

This multidisciplinary course will enable participants from a wide range of backgrounds to consider how, through their role:

• They can promote the mental health and well being of children and young people.
• Identify early mental health problems and work together with others to improve access to services and support

Target Audience

All safeguarding professionals working with children, young people and their families.

Learning Outcomes

• Apply current conceptual models for thinking about mental health, mental health problems and disorders in children and teenagers.

• Briefly apply and describe current theories and research relating to: attachment, brain development, trauma and ACEs, risk and resilience in order to deepen your understanding and develop your practice.

• Explore and develop your own perspective on children and young people’s mental health alongside the perspectives of others, including the voices of young people, in order to establish a foundation for further learning.
