The Department for Education has published (4 July 2018) a new Working Together 2018 (WT2018) that sets out new Safeguarding Arrangements for Local Authorities, their statutory partners and wider safeguarding agencies and bodies

In addition they have published Transitional Guidance that is in force from 29 June 2018 – to ensure LSCBs have the time and space to move to the new arrangements as set out in WT 2018. The Guidance states “From 29 June 2018, local authority areas must begin their transition from LSCBs to safeguarding partner and child death review partner arrangements. The transition must be completed by 29 September 2019.

Brighton & Hove LSCB has begun the process to move to the new arrangements and progress will be communicated through our usual channels, in the meantime we will continue to work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children in Brighton & Hove.

Through the Board structure the LSCB provides the strategic and operational direction of safeguarding and continuous monitoring of performance in Brighton & Hove. The Board produces a three-year Business Plan and an Annual Report.
