The Child Protection Conference Pilot

A short pilot project to increase the involvement of young people (12+) in their child protection conferences (CPC) was carried out between 1 December 2010 and 4 May 2011. Altogether, 30 young people participated in the pilot and have been invited to share their experiences. The views of these young people, their parents/carers and practitioners will be included in the project evaluation and the findings will be presented in a report. In addition 16 young people have taken part in a consultation about their involvement in the CPC process.

It is anticipated that the evaluation report will be completed by end Nov 2011 and the findings will be used to support the roll out of the pilot.
